About the event

Overview
An experiential workshop for parents and caregivers navigating life’s tenderest conversations
Big Questions Little Hearts: How to talk about death with our children
How do we talk to children about death? It’s a question that can catch even the most confident caregiver off guard. Whether prompted by a loss in the family, something overheard, or a curious question at bedtime, these moments can be emotionally loaded and deeply challenging.
Big Questions, Little Hearts is a warm, welcoming workshop designed to help parents and caregivers feel supported and empowered when responding to children’s questions about death and dying.
The session offers thoughtful, research-informed guidance grounded in developmental psychology, along with space for individual reflection and group discussion. Together, we’ll explore:
How young children understand death at different ages
Practical language and approaches that foster honest, age-appropriate dialogue
Creative, hands-on activities to support these conversations at home
Your own beliefs, experiences, and emotions around mortality in a nonjudgmental environment
You’ll leave with greater clarity, confidence, and compassion, along with take-home resources and the reassurance that you’re not navigating this alone.
